The touchscreen application is intended for the use of FedEx employees, and produces information accessible to customers through their FedEx online account which allows for higher productivity and profits. The application allows employees to place delivery information into a package mailing system, taking into account weather updates around the world.

For example, weather information about storms in Pittsburgh may delay the delivery of a package destined for South Africa based on probable flight delays due to the bad weather. The application allows the customer to affect transactions based on weather predictions a week in advance, and alter the delivery schedule accordingly. This FedEx application can have a profound effect on business, by allowing the customer more control in delivery decisions.
